Our Story

Fitzgerald Trailers was founded in 2023 and is based in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Our factory implements the latest in automation technology, taking an outside the box approach to building 53” Dry Van Trailers. Our innovative team consisting of engineers, mechanics, and lifelong trucking industry professionals all had equal say in the design to achieve our goal: To build the highest quality trailer possible.

Robert Fitzgerald – CEO / Founder
Robert Fitzgerald has been in the transportation industry for over 25 years. In all previous ventures, Robert has taken a common sense approach to the industry applying a simple theory that all things commercial equipment must eventually be serviced and that it’s easier to train a technician to have a singular focus and repeat this process than to have a tech take a job from start to finish. During his time at Fitzgerald Glider Kits, Robert played a crucial role in developing the engine bay that made gliders such an appealing option to consumers. The engine bay was designed not only for aesthetics but wire and hose routing made it simple to maintain and easy to service when necessary. At FCR he again applied his tech training logic and redefined collision repair, decreasing downtime for his customers by up to 70 percent.

Len Braner – COO / Co-Founder
After 20 years of leadership in manufacturing and design for manufacturing applications Len was fortunate enough to acquire Automation Engineering from its founder and has focused on helping manufacturers compete in the global economy by employing automation solutions. Len’s extensive knowledge of automation makes him an incredibly crucial asset.
